DRIVING in NYC: We strongly suggest that you do not drive in Manhattan. NYC will implement congestion pricing this summer, and you will be charged just to drive in that part of Manhattan.

PARKING in NYC: Additionally, NYC Parking Rates are RIDICULOUS. We are currently looking into possible discounts, but we make no promises so please just understand if you choose to drive, the fees and parking will significantly add to that expense.
Transportation: The Home 2/Hampton Inn Hotel is located near several subway and bus lines which will make travel easy without a car.

Entertainment/Restaurants: There are many, many entertainment, cultural and culinary experiences within a short walk from the hotel.

Extended Stay at Hotel: If your schedule is flexible and you would like to extend your stay in the NYC area, the hotel (Home 2/Hampton Inn) will honor the referenced discount amount for three (3) days prior to and three days after the reunion. Therefore, you can get the same room rate from July 16th through July 24th.

Airport Ground Transportation from JFK: A taxi ride from JFK airport will run you approximately $75.00, more in heavy traffic. If you're coming in groups, you may want to look into hiring a van service. That might lessen the price per person. If you are up to it - you can actually get to the hotel on public transportation, directly from the airport by taking the Air Train. The cost from JFK to Times Square by public transportation should run you about $10/$15 per person.

Other Hotel(s): We did receive a request for less expensive hotel options. There is a Comfort Inn on West 48th St. It is listed as Times Square on their website; however, it is about five blocks away and you will not be in Times Square. It's only five blocks, but it is a very different neighborhood. I guarantee you that you will have a very different experience than the rest of us. The rooms are cheaper and a little bigger, but sometimes you get what you pay for.
